Sun loungers go from a basic folding frame right up to fully reclining ones with wheels and proper cushions, worth having a proper look before you buy more than one.
Reclining vs Fixed
If you like reading or napping in different positions through the day, go for a multi-position recliner. Fixed loungers are cheaper and lighter, fine if you're only using them occasionally or don't have much garden to fill.
Materials
Aluminium with a mesh fabric (textilene) is a common pairing, light and it dries out fast after rain. Rattan loungers look more like proper furniture but they're heavier, and you'll need somewhere to put them over winter.
Wheels on one end genuinely make a difference if you move loungers around much, without them it's a bit of a wrestle on your own.
Buying two at once is usually cheaper per lounger than buying them one at a time, worth checking if there's a pair deal going.
Frequently asked questions
Do sun loungers fold up for storage?
Most do, just check the folded size if you're tight on shed or garage space.
Textilene or rattan, what's the actual difference?
Textilene's lighter and dries quicker after rain. Rattan looks more like real furniture but it's heavier to shift and store.
Is it cheaper to buy a pair?
sually, yes, per-lounger cost tends to be lower buying two together than buying them separately.
